Ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday Nov. 6th.

A number of races in Washington State are expected to be very close, including Jay Inslee for Governor, Bob Ferguson for Attorney General, Kathleen Drew for Secretary of State and Suzan Delbene for Congress in CD1, Also many Legislative races are in play and the outcome can determine which party controls the Legislature. Your help now can make the difference between us winning and losing in some of these races. Big money from out of state is starting to come into some of these races. We need your help on the ground to help offset the big dollars from the right wing and special interests.

If you can help with door to door canvassing and literature distribution or phoning and are not plugged into your local Legislative District Democratic organization or the Coordinated Campaign, please respond by clicking on the volunteer link below and we will connect you with either the State Coordinated campaign, your local LD organization or a specific campaign. Urge the DOJ to investigate Republican voter registration fraud across the country

From DailyKos:

Please become a citizen co-signer of a letter from Democratic members of Congress urging the US Department of Justice to investigate Republican National Committee contractor Strategic Allied Consulting for committing voter registration fraud in multiple swing states. Click here to sign.

Earlier this week, 40,000 members of the Daily Kos community sent an email to the Virginia State Board of Elections (VSBOE) demanding an investigation into a voter registration supervisor employed by Pinpoint, a subsidiary of Strategic Allied Consulting, after he was arrested and charged with 13 counts of voter registration fraud.

Two days ago, in a complete reversal of their earlier position, the VSBOE called a special meeting and unanimously voted to request just such an investigation from the state attorney general. The investigation will begin immediately.

This is a real grassroots victory in the fight against voter suppression, but our struggle is not confined to one state. Florida authorities are also investigating possible voter registration fraud committed by Strategic Allied Consulting, which was contracted by the Republican National Committee in multiple swing states.

Democratic members of Congress are calling on the US Department of Justice (DOJ) to launch a multi-state investigation into Strategic Allied Consulting. A federal agency, such as the DOJ, is our best hope at getting to the bottom of this because they have the authority to work across state lines.

Please, click here urge the DOJ to investigate Republican voter registration fraud across the country.

Keep fighting,
Rachel Colyer
Associate Campaign Director, Daily Kos

P.S. Please help keep Daily Kos strong by chipping in $3.

Help Bob Ferguson Today

From Bob Ferguson:

Dear Friend,

If you watch TV, you know an out-of-state PAC founded by Karl Rove is spending millions of dollars trying to buy the Attorney General’s Office with misleading attack ads criticizing work I did as a summer intern in law school.

We have a response ad on the air, but I need your help as well.

In addition to voting for me and contributing to my Emergency Response Fund, there are three ways you can help me combat this out-of-state group and the special interests funding their disgraceful ad.

1)   Sign this petition calling on my opponent to renounce these misleading ads.

2)   “Like” this Facebook page: “Don’t Let Karl Rove Buy the Office of Attorney General.”

3)   Send a short note to your friends and family by email or Facebook. Feel free to use any or all of these five message points.

Thank you for your help and support. Together we will beat Karl Rove and his out-of-state special interests.

Bob

In 1979 at a young age and just about to graduate from High school, I got that call. I got a call that said the family is needed at the hospital. Little did I know it was too late to say goodbye to my Father.

Yes, his mind was sharp, his spirit was strong but his Heart was weak. I always wondered how that moment in my life played an important role of who I am today.

Yes, I’m been working here at King County Government for almost 25 years, yes, I’m involved at my work place and in my community but most of all I’m a father and grandfather of a 10 year old grandson and a 4 year old granddaughter. I’m very concerned that maybe my heart is not as strong as I think and I won’t be there for them when they need me most.

That’s what motivates and drives me to help raise money for the American Heart Association and King County’s efforts. I hope that you can join me by Pledging in helping others that might need the research and services that is provided by the American Heart Association.

Please Pledge $$ for me. Anything you can, Click the link below . Feel free to pass on tell your friends.

Elections and Smartphones

With more and more people using Smartphones, there’s a powerful new app that can let them use their Smartphones to navigate through the voting  process. Key partners of our Campus Election Engagement Project, like Rock the Vote and the Lawyers Committee on Civil Rights, have been working on it for close to two years. It’s downloadable for free for both iPhones and Androids. It’s a great tool to help people surmount the electoral barriers using the technologies they most rely on, and one of the most useful tools for our project in companion with our Six Key Ways  checklist.  So we hope you’ll promote it to any networks you’re part of.

The app allows users to:

  • Verify their registration and register to vote (in states without online registration they’ll need to physically mail a form that will be emailed to them);
  • Look up their polling place;
  • Review key voting rules and regulations for their state;
  • See what type of machine they will vote on;
  • Receive notifications of late breaking news affecting voting in their area; and
  • Contact Election Protection via phone or email to report a problem or get answers to their questions.
